Telling Stories
I have seen my blogs which have developed rapidly from being one site to become almost 30 spots. You wonder whether you will find any new story on each of this spot of my blogs. I promise I will fulfil them everyday to write one by one.
Telling stories relate with sounding. There will be somebody tells the story. My stories can be read in the way. Since I write my stories in English, I have to speak out any words to become sentences sometime loudly to awake my Indonesian brain.
I have decided to write in English. Perhaps it is also good for my Indonesian readers at Facebook. My English is not as difficult as I will find in the native's writings. By doing that, I suggest to my readers for developing their confidence to furnish their English skills by practicing.
Perhaps my imagination on building the stories came from my grandmother whose name inherited on me as Cootje. She has passed away in her 84 years in Jakarta a year after the death of my father in 1989. She lived older with her lover to really respect and to love deeply each other. Anytime I have started to share about her, I feel like all stories of her will just flow out from my memories. I have touched her roles in my stories to show how deeply she influenced me in the way she shared orally her own stories.
Her stories about Papua and her homeland in Ambon have been influenced me so much. She would tell any stories while examining all trees around her home, or going up to the mountains to harvest cloves, nutmegs and other spices from their own trees. Her home in the land that is open to the ocean standing side by side with river where we could caught little shrimps. She was a traveler and returned home in her old age with her lover and children to bless their marriage which brought so many grandchildren to whom she shared her stories of her young living experiences.
I was not travelled yet outside Ambon until I was 9 years when my parents agreed for me to travel with a family of my close friend to have a central Java tour. I joined their tour as a gift of my achievement at my class.
The spirit of telling stories relates with having our own imagination that moves us to travel even when we do not move out from a particular area where we live. My grandmother home base which was loved so much by my father, was the best place to help me growing my imagination. Bringing ourselves into an open land to have the horizon of the universe landscape will stimulate our brain to expand its own content that is going to be fulfilled later on in the whole of ourlife time.
The picture which is being used for the profile of this blog was about our walk that we did during our women retreat in Alas Wegode in Parangtritis where the house of Pondok Jati Rasa stands. We let our brain to be relax for seeing other views to develop its own new understanding in the interaction with nature and people on the trip. Our horizon of thoughts will record our new energy of knowing the new area visually that this signal transforms the pictures into sentences to share to others.
This process of thoughts has been amazed myself to see its development within myself. Nothing can be exchanged with this experiences to let our brain creating its own experiences to be the place for more and more stories to grow.
In this blog I hope I can transform my inner imagination into words and sentences to make a story that will shock myself firstly. The stories that are taken out after so long have lived within my uncounsious thoughts. There are so many, too many that I believe I have the stocks to overflow in my entire blogs.
